Which Littermaid self cleaning litter box model has worked for you?

i’ve been looking for a littermaid but i’m not sure which model to buy. i’ve come across a whole bunch of bad reviews for the elites saying they break down too easily and these bad reviews say they loved their older models. i was looking into the LM500 but i also have a pretty big cat. will the LM500 be sufficient? what kind of litter do i use for the older models? i know the elites require clumping litter.
anybody know which model was littermaid’s first self cleaning litter box?

I’m not sure which version I have–I think it might be one of the “elite” models–but my cat has broken two rakes already on the damn thing. It’s partly because he’s an idiot and shoves all of his litter into a pile in one corner–which is too heavy for the rake to push through–but they should’ve designed the rake to have stouter wheels which don’t shear off and break as easily as they do. I’m now going to have to buy a third replacement rake from the website, and they’re not cheap. If this keeps up I’m probably going to ditch the thing and find another solution.
