Feliway for inappropriate feline urination?
Does Feliway really work???? I have a cat who is urinating in a corner (on the carpet). I have tried just about everything to get her to stop, and nothing has worked (and yes, I have taken her to the vet — no UTI or any other medical problem). I would like to know if anyone has had success with Feliway. If so, which is better, the diffuser or the spray? With the spray, is it to be sprayed directly where she is going potty (after cleaning it, I assume)? Please note that she DOES also use the litter box. But, for some reason also insists on using this particular corner. ARG!
Feliway would help if the reason she is peeing outside of the box is because she is upset because of a recent change like a new pet, recent move, etc.
Feliway is also good to use when a cat has been injured and is healing. Basically, it is meant to calm overstimulated, upset cats.
If your cat is peeing outside of the box for another reason, Feliway won’t work. But, if you don’t know why she is doing it, it is worth a try!
I don’t think the spray isn’t meant to be sprayed directly onto the urine spots. What it does is mimic the scent of female feline hormones, and the scent calms cats.
Other products are made to 1) eliminate the scent of urine already there and 2) to discourage a cat from peeing in a particular spot. The Feliway is a “feel good” product.
ADDED
I just found this at Amazon and read several feedback comments about how well Feliway worked for the problem you stated. Take a look at:

Feedback comments are towards the bottom of the page.
ALSO, it seems I was wrong and that you *do* spray it in the urine spot!
