CAT LOVEPURR

HELP!!! our cats keep dieing,need good small animal vet to answer this one please help me?

An epidemic has seem to have swept across our 15 barncats. so far 6 have died and more are showing syptoms. it seems to take one or two a day. started last week
syptoms(and in this order):
1. fever
2.diarrhea and vomitting-only some have showed that
3.weakness mainly in back end
4.ear drainage
5.they are drinking but not eating
6. blood like stuff our of ears and nose
7. DEATH!! -within 36-48 hours after they show symptoms
2 more are showing symptoms and don’t want to lose any more
there is one that has hung in for 4 or 5 days now

Your parents need to take the cats to an animal shelter to have them euthanized as it is more than likely they have panleukopenia or Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). There’s no cure for either and allowing them to die is inhumane and outright animal cruelty. Your other questions mention you breed German Shepherds so what’s to stop your parents from neglecting the dogs too! Barn cats suffer like humans. If you were dying wouldn’t you expect someone to help you? Animals are helpless and need humans to act on their behalf!! You are only 14 and it’s an adults responsibility to lead by good example for their children, which your parents seem to lack and you have a better sense knowing better by pleaing for help here. Unfortunately no one here can tell you what Exactly is causing your cats to die so quickly without seeing them and running tests–it’s the only way–sorry.

If all cats do die, it’s very critical to not get any cats until you know what caused the others to die or you’ll have more cats who will die from the disease that can live in the ground soil for many months. Any vet can tell you this so you don’t need to take my word.

Just so you know your parents can be charged with animal cruelty by denying necessary medical treatment. Call any animal shelter anonymously and they’ll tell you about this law. Again, don’t take my word, call and find out for yourself to learn the truth. They don’t care you are 14, you have the right to know the truth about the rights of animals and what happens if people don’t provide necessary medical care to any animal who is suffering that they own.
