What should I do about my cat not finishing her food? Should I give her something different?

My cat is 5 months now and at first, she would finish her food for everytime I fed her. I know since she is getting older, I would have to feed her more. However, for the last two weeks, she wouldn’t even finish her food. Perhaps that’s a sign to give her something different but if it is, what’s the best brand for cat foods? I’ve been feeding her Whiskas, Friskies (canned foods) and Purina (dry foods) since I got her.

First, be grateful that your cat does not show a tendency to overeat.

I’d just leave her a good quality dry food free choice. It sounds like you’re one of the lucky individuals that isn’t going to have to worry about dealing with the health problems that go along with a too fat pet. Please don’t think that it’s a good idea to encourage her to eat more than she needs–that will cause problems on down the line. If she’s at a healthy lean weight and showing normal growth she doesn’t need to eat any more than she wants to.
